Most child-friendly airport lounges

Flying with your kids and need to find child-friendly airport lounges?

Need to escape the endless halls and omnipresent buzz of the airport for a quiet nook with food, drink, and other blessed amenities like private spaces for diaper changes and settling an exhausted child?

Discover the best airport lounges catering to families, including infants and small children, as rated by moms and those who travel with them.

El Dorado Lounge, El Dorado International Airport, Bogota (BOG)

Marianne Perez Fransius, CEO of Bébé Voyage, is an expert in connecting families with small children who love to discover the world with each other and the brands that matter to them.

When traveling with her children, Marianne exclaims, “The lounge my 4 and 11-year-olds keep asking about is the El Dorado Lounge in Bogota. They love it because it has a kids’ playroom with a VOLCANO!”

The volcano was under repair in February 2025 but may be available for use now.

If a volcano wasn’t enough, Marianne recalls, “The playroom has a ‘hidden jungle treasures’ theme with a wagon, a wooden walkway, and a cave tunnel.”

In addition to the playroom, the El Dorado Lounge has a baby changing area and recliners in a quiet area to take a nap.

“The lounge is divided into multiple ‘living rooms,’ some with TVs, some without, making it easy for families to find a more intimate space to hang out between flights,” Marianne shares.

Hungry? Good, because food is at the ready.

Make sure you drop by the snack station, which includes healthy options like fruit, herbal tea, and water, as well as sweet treats.

If you’re looking for a meal, Marianne notes, “Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served in the dining room for extra cost. There are always healthy kid-friendly options available like scrambled eggs, rice and beans, etc.”

Iberia Velázquez Premium Lounge, Madrid-Barajas Airport (MAD), Terminal 4S

Kirsti Jane is CEO and founder of House of Luxury Group, a record-breaking luxury brokerage that specializes in high-ticket deals, including rare cars, real estate, hotels, sports teams, and more.

What airport lounge gets Kirsti’s vote for family friendliness? The Velázquez Premium Lounge in Terminal 4S (T4S), an Iberia Lounge at Madrid Airport, which she describes as being ‘amazing for children.’

Note that there are two Iberia Lounges at the Madrid airport, so be sure to go to Velázquez Premium Lounge to experience what Kirsti describes below.

Kirsti indicates that the lounge is great for children of all ages and provides amenities for nursing mothers.

She writes, “It has a dedicated children’s area with a small soft play-like facility, it has game stations for the older children. There are dedicated children changing facilities. Private rooms for naps and feeding. It doesn’t necessarily have a children’s menu, but the food in general is children friendly, it’s not full of sweets and sugar.”

Qatar Airways Al Mourjan Business Lounge, Terminal 1, Hamad International Airport (DOH)

Dee Joubert, Chief Operating Officer of Dentaly Go, frequents airports as a means to reach out to international dental clinics and, as a mother, has noticed a few standout lounges when it comes to being suitable for families, particularly for families with infants and young children.

“One of the best I have had the pleasure of visiting is the Qatar Airways Al Mourjan Business Lounge at the Hamad International Airport in Doha, Qatar. Located in Terminal 1, it has plenty of child-friendly facilities,” Dee confides.

What makes this lounge special? Dee explains:

  • Dedicated play zones that are secure and engaging for children of every age
  • Baby changing rooms and nursing rooms ensure parents a clean and private space where they can attend to their babies.
  • A range of healthy fare, including fresh fruits, greens, and simple meals without additives or artificial flavors.

“The atmosphere is peaceful and relaxed, with staff being extremely understanding of the requirements of traveling families, creating a hassle-free environment,” she reveals.

Emirates Lounge, Terminal 3, Dubai International Airport (DXB)

Dee describes this Emirates Lounge airport oasis in Dubai as a spacious lounge that has a warm welcome for families.

Apart from the regular amenities, Dee confirms that a play area for kids, baby-changing facilities, and quiet rooms for breastfeeding mothers are also available.

The food, too, she points out, is ‘not only nutritious but thoughtfully curated, with light meals and snacks to satisfy children without giving them too much sugar.’

“My son and I particularly enjoyed their gluten-free breads and Scottish Salmon toast served with avocado. They also boast a patient and responsive staff, offering extra support to families when needed, and a relaxing, stress-free environment that makes air travel with children a lot easier.”
